25 Jul Choosing a course

The first stage of applying to university is choosing which course you’d like to do.

At Cambridge, courses tend to start out more broadly, to give you a good background in the subject and to introduce you to lots of different topic areas. You can then specialise in the area you’re most interested in later on.

If you’re not sure about which subject to study, and would like to find out more about the courses offered at Cambridge, this short film will give you some helpful advice.

I can endorse this. I intended to become an electronic engineer, read part I in general engineering, got fascinated with steel structures, tried to write software to analyse them, got even more fascinated with the computers themselves, read part II in computer science and now forty years on I'm a consulting software engineer.

    That's what happens.

Most of modern science is completly wrong or just very narrow in the science knowledge about the subject. Just because there is a thing called a microscope which is partly invented by archimedes and the dutch man leeuwenhoek.

@stefkata2 'There isn't a College that's easier to get into than any other – you can either apply to one College, or make an open application where we allocate you to a College.'

@thef0untainpen We're sorry, but unfortunately we are not able to grant permission to use this music for alternative purposes. You could try having a look at Jamendo, a site where you can download music that is published under Creative Commons licenses. Hope you manage to find something soon, and that your project goes well!
