About Dirk Maggs:
Dirk Maggs is an alumnus of University of Winchester. He is a prolific writer and director for audio drama, the stage, games, film and television. He is best known for his work as director on three of the previous five radio series of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. Dirk is famous for evolving radio drama into ‘audio movies’ – a near-visual approach combining scripts, layered sound effects, cinematic music and cutting-edge technology. He pioneered the use of Dolby Surround sound in BBC Radio and was among the first nominees for the Directors Guild of Great Britain Outstanding Achievement in Radio Award.
