03 Apr Kaplan University Summer 2014 Commencement Ceremony
On July 26, 2014, more than 6,500 of Kaplan University’s students graduated with their undergraduate or graduate degree or certificate. Nearly 700 of them traveled to Chicago to attend the Summer 2014 Commencement Ceremony in person at the magnificent, ninety-three-year-old The Chicago Theatre. A packed house of family, friends, faculty, alumni, and staff members were there to cheer them on. The event’s keynote speaker was Desiree Rogers, chief executive officer (CEO) of Johnson Publishing Company and former White House Social Secretary. Ms. Rogers’ inspiring address urged each graduate to have “power over your own story…to use that power to make an impact; never forget your beginnings or the possibilities.” Kaplan University Provost, Dr. Betty Vandenbosch, led the turning of the tassel ceremony, which symbolized the students’ transition from candidate to graduate.
