On 9-11-2012 LCI traveled to Phoenix, AZ and obtained our first client. Our client was given 6 weeks of housing at a Prescott, AZ half way house while also given a scholarship to 6 weeks of Intensive Out Patient Therapy (IOP). After the 6 week scholarship was at its end that particular client was given a chance to move into a transitional sober living home and further his education in basic life skills. This has become the standard outline for all of our LCI clients.
Since our first client on 9-11-2012, we have performed a total of 7 “interventions”. 2 in Phoenix, AZ, 1 in Los Angeles, CA, 2 in Las Vegas, NV and 2 in San Diego, CA. We have received an unbelievable amount of community support followed by the support of treatment centers, attorneys, media and every family member of an addict who was afraid to reach out for the help for their loved one until they heard about us.
On May 20, 2013 LCI will be traveling to Albuquerque, NM to perform our work. We have decided to include “drug abuse awareness and solution” to the troubled youth in Juvenile detention centers. Everyone who participates in our interventions also has a history with drug abuse and recovery, to double our efforts of carrying a solution to the war against drugs; we are going to carry our experience of solution to the troubled American Youth.
As of this point all of LCI’s finances have come from seed money donated by the founders, small donations made by our community, drug treatment scholarships and fundraising events such as Car Washes. Once we become an eligible candidate for Grants we will begin our quest for funding, until then we will continue to promote our good works and make as big of an impact as we can. Our goal is to perform 12 interventions a year and speak to troubled youth on every trip.
