23 Sep Research Guides at Salem State University Library
An overview of subject and course research guides at Salem State University Library.
Research guides are library web sites that offer information about conducting research on an academic subject or for a specific course.
You can access research guides from the front page of the library website by clicking the pull-down menu “select a research guide” or by clicking “browse by subject.”
When you click on “browse by subject,” you get a list of guides arranged by academic discipline.
Let’s click on History.
There are five different research guides. Let’s click on History.
This guide starts with an overview of history resources at Salem State.
On the right side of the homepage you’ll find the librarian responsible for history, Carol Zoppel.
You can find Carol’s office phone number and e-mail, and appointment calendar.
You can reach out to Carol if you have questions about researching history.
Let’s look at another guide.
Use the back button to get to the list of research guides.
This time, let’s click on “Nursing” and choose “Nursing 104.”
This guide is specifically for students in Nursing 104 Evidence Based Nursing.
This course has a specific research component and this guide was developed to help students with that research.
On the right side of the page, you see Nancy George, the librarian for nursing, and her contact info.
If you’re a faculty member and would like a research guide for your class, please reach out to your librarian.
