A few Oregon Governors — Atiyeh, Kulongoski and Kitzhaber — and 600 attendees crammed the Kridel Grand Ballroom at the Portland Art Museum Feb. five to increase cash for student scholarships to Concordia College.

Keynote speaker Salman Khan shared his tale of founding and rising Khan Academy to now seven million monthly consumers. He emphasized its mission to present “A no cost world class education and learning for anybody wherever,” and closed the party by stating his perspective that “Education ought to be a suitable, like drinking water.”

    Mr. Khan has what it takes to be a great teacher.  His extensive knowledge is enhanced with the natural talent of 'being able to explain things' combined with an easy-listening voice plus an actual love and interest in what he is doing.  

    It is a pleasure to view his videos on Khan Academy.
