Is there anyone here who is admitted to SCU (class of 2020)?

You know it's good that we are getting publicity in general here and that people are critiquing. I've never seen this before, so I'm totally down to see a debate here!

If you're going to gripe about the cost to attend, then perhaps you should have picked another school that either cost less or you received more aid for. I also graduated from SCU, and yes, the student loans I'm paying back now suck. But because of my education I got a great job that allows me to pay back my loans. And I realize that isn't the case for everyone, but I consider the price tag an investment in my future and completely worth everything I learned and experienced.

Considering Jesuits accept evolution, I'm not surprised the bio department is geared towards it. It should be common sense to all religious folks that to deny science only cheapens the existence of god. Would you jump off a cliff expecting gravity not to affect you? Well, maybe YOU would, but if you agree that falling due to gravitational theory imparts nothing about the existence of god, accepting evolution is no different, except that you're unwilling to interpret the bible accordingly.

First off, please refrain from commenting on a school you know nothing about – you're not a student here. Secondly, please explain to me how a) a class devoted to teaching "secular humanism", a professor that exclaims the death of god, and an essay that requires we analyze the failings of Christianity (in other words, an essay in which BS is required), which is a mandatory class to graduate, and b) a Bio department devoted to teaching EVOLUTIONARY biology, isn't indoctrination?

Teaching a class on communism is not the same thing as teaching people to be communist or indoctrinating people. The idea is to be educated enough to make your own decisions in life, although it seems Santa Clara University's efforts were wasted on you 🙁

Where does that money come from? Oh that's right it comes from us [your alumni] whom you email and write to on a monthly basis asking to donate back to the school. It comes from your current student's tuition. Unless "millions of dollars" magically appear out of nowhere….Don't get me wrong. I think SCU is a great university. I'm glad to have graduated from there. It just cost an arm and a leg to attend.

My experience with the professors of SCU has been astounding. I'd always thought what I'd been told about universities was a bunch of baloney – no way professors spout nonsense in class all day! But no, we have professors teaching us that God is dead (an actual quote from a class) and we teach classes on freaking COMMUNISM. If you don't want to be indoctrinated – STAY AWAY! At three years in, it's too late for me – I can't afford to do another 4 somewher else.

Not too bad of a video. It was cool to help with the production part. The part I helped was when the theater student was writing a civil engineering equation (location was Lucas Hall).

Hello Chris Chang, did you know that SCU gives millions of dollars to students through scholarships as well? We hope you'll be able to share this fact too.

we also have one of the best financial aid departments in the country (Leavey School of Business at #7 according to Businessweek.) just stating facts.

Thanks for deleting my comment. Censorship is great! Just stating the facts: in order to attend SCU [without financial aid] the average student needs to pay around $40-50k/year.

If you have a problem with my statement do let me know.
