01 Nov Scholarships & Bursaries for UK Undergraduates @ the University of Oxford

I know I was extremely worried about the costs of Oxford before getting there. There was also a time during my degree where I needed to access a ‘hardship fund’. Consequently, I decided to make a video explaining some of the scholarships and bursaries available to UK undergraduates.

This is such a brilliant vlog. If you happen to be passing it is an expert analysis from an Oxford Uni grad.
As Rosie has pointed out, the base funding for UK students is a separate subject – this is about scholarships and bursaries. IT IS ABOUT EXTRA FUNDING!

*PLEASE READ* I had a few confused UK people in my dms about affording uni and the loans system. Essentially every student is eligible for a £9250 loan per year for tuition that goes straight to the uni from the student loans company. Every student is also eligible for a maintenance loan. The amount of this loan that you get is means tested and can range from around £3000 to around £9000 per year of support. This goes into your bank at 3 different times of the year, split into 3. This money is all loaned and once earning 25,000 (I think?) Per year you start paying back in monthly sums automatically. After 30 years or so any money still owed is wiped so you may not even end up paying it all back. All of this is done on the Student Finance website between now and May. It must be done each year before going to or returning to uni in September.
