24 May SHOULD THE WELSH HAVE SCHOOL LEAGUE TABLES?
The CMPO compared the GCSE results of Welsh and English school pupils, and found a significant decline in Welsh educational standards in the years since Wales abolished school league tables.
The Welsh Assembly government accepted that that there’d been a decline, but denied a connection with League Tables. However, one of their new measures designed to raise standards is ‘school grading’ – which some have described as League Tables by another name.
