20 Mar Summer months School for Sexualities, Cultures and Politics 2014
The Summer months School for Sexualities, Cultures and Politics is a lasting venture, initially initiated by the Office for Gender Reports at the Institute for Social Sciences and Humanities “Euro-Balkan”, Skopje, Macedonia and the Faculty of Media and Communications at Singidunum College, Belgrade, Serbia. In 2014, the School has moved to and was taken up organizationally by IPAK Middle. It has been founded with terrific enthusiastic attempts, relentless perseverance to queer and gender reports research and a restless drive for introducing and revising hegemonic theories of sexuality and gender in SEE, and the ex-Yugoslav area.
The basic goal of the School is to get younger publish-graduate college students, scholars and educating team from both of those Japanese and Western Europe and boost a shared platform for research and trans-disciplinary theoretical reflection on the complex modes of interweaving sexuality, tradition and politics, and consequently of exchanging and questioning geopolitically decided discourses in the research of sexualities, gender reports, and queer principle. Our idea is to deliver college students, scholars and academics with the chance to query, decenter and democratize these parts by way of deferring the idea of theoretical and geopolitical privilege which is typically implied by these research parts, and thus to introduce new products of rethinking context-specific phenomena relevant to sexualities and, vice versa, to enrich theoretical paradigms with context-specific phenomena and research.
