10 May Uniform Circular Motion: Crash Course Physics #7

Did you know that centrifugal force isn’t really a thing? I mean, it’s a thing, it’s just not real. In fact, physicists call it a “Fictitious Force.” Mind blown yet? To explore this idea further, this week Shini sits down with us to discuss centripetal force, centrifugal force, and a few other bits of physics to help us understand Uniform Circular motion.

It feels like your being pushed outwards, people often attribute this sensation to centrifugal force, but that's not real. Throwing some shade right there!

I'd just like to point out that that's Link spinning a giant Boss Key, and that's awesome.

Thankyou! Khans couldn't help, my physocs teacher is useless, and this is one of the only times I actually understand what it is we're doing in that class

At 1:40, "the gravity you feel just by jumping in the air" is unfortunate. You "feel" gravity precisely while not jumping in the air; during the jump you're in free fall hence "weightless".

i thought it was going to the center because the opposite force of the key takes time to disappear, causing the object to move somewhat towards the center

I've never been to a centrifuge and the first thing that came to my mind getting to know about it is surprisingly the vomit that each one of those chambers would be filled with after each ride!🤢😅

when an object is in uniform circular motion its velocity is tangent to the circle and its acceleration is pointing inward. thats all i need to know. thank you.

making radius smaller only increases acceleration if velocity is constant, correct?

You just wasted my time .there is no derivation for aceleration .
