University of Lincoln Research Showcase: The Design and Construction of Low Carbon Buildings
Professor Behzad Sodagar, Lincoln School of Architecture

Professor Sodagar and his team’s aim on this project was to develop construction techniques for a 100 per cent ‘off-grid’ building with a minimised carbon footprint, following the principles of reusing and recycling.

As part of the University’s Student as Producer initiative, and in the spirit of research-engaged teaching, the blueprints for Hill Holt Wood were designed by students.

The completed building has influenced mainstream architectural practice by showcasing the potential of low-carbon construction.
