14 Feb What happens next after getting accepted into college? | Arizona State University
Congratulations! You’ve been admitted into college, but now what? Director of international recruitment operations at Arizona State University, Cesar Flores Marquez, talks about the touchpoints that universities will have with a student and next steps for being prepared to go to college.
Education institutions usually notify a student of their college admission by physical letter and an email. Both the letter and email will provide instructions for next steps, or refer students to an associated website that outlines everything for you. Here’s what ASU’s webpage looks like: https://admission.asu.edu/first-year/admitted
Next steps include things like..
-Activating your student ID
-Applying for scholarships
-Filling out the FAFSA
-Confirming your attendance by paying an enrollment deposit
-Registering for orientation
-Securing housing and university meal plans
-Determining what student records parents need access to
These tasks aren’t just unique to ASU. Wherever you plan to attend college, make sure you complete important steps like filling out the FAFSA and applying for scholarships. Who doesn’t want free money, right? https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/fafsa
Cesar Flores Marquez reminds students that being proactive is the key to being successful as a college student. Unlike high school, students need to act independently to submit documents on time and register for classes. Remember to ask for help if you need it. Colleges don’t expect you to be an expert at going to college. If you feel like you are missing information or something doesn’t make sense to you, reach out to your institution of choice and ask for help. Representatives are standing by and excited to help you start your next chapter off on the right foot.

Posted at 23:19h, 14 FebruaryI have some questions, I need help😭 ~I have a set college that i want to go to and i'm starting my senior year in high school soon. For the college i want to go to i'm also going to be moving to that state. I've heard that for in state tuition you have to be a state resident for 2 years? i'm not sure but if so, I was planning on moving there and then waiting the two years so I can get in state tuition? and so i can also save up the money i need to pay for college. Lets say I apply this year(my senior year) and get accepted, how long after I get accepted do I have to pay my tuition and all my costs? Also how long after getting accepted do you actually start college? Do I have the two year time span I need after getting accepted? Do I have to apply during my senior year or should I apply after graduating/moving? If so when should i apply? ~I'm so sorry if that's a lot of questions!! I'm new to all the college stuff still and it confuses me, I don't know what to do:(
