01 Jul UCF Professor Richard Quinn accuses class of cheating [Original]

University of Central Florida students study for test and get accused of cheating. Somehow a test bank of 700 questions floats around in the class. Students studied the 700 questions for a 50 question exam. The professor finds out and makes all students retake the exam. He claims he has a forensic analysis team on the case. No one can get out of retaking the exam unless they have a signed note from god.

They got scammed. There's no way to be sure somebody cheated. Even if you're dumb you just need to say that you got lucky. And it's the school's own fault. Just make a new question pool for every exam…

Breaking news…80% of those who "cheated" were hired by the Trump Organization!

This professor was bluffing with all his threats….he can't prove with certainty who cheated. Did the students really cheat on this exam? I don't believe so.

if there are test questions floating around, don't blame the students for that. this just shows the professors are lazy in their test designs! #lazyteachers

So 3 years later I still believe the professor is full of shit- he’s mad because his students realize he’s too lazy to write his own exams so he’s pissed that students got copies of the questions?? Professors make 100000 grand a year- work about 8 hours per week and can’t write their own tests ??? WTF

I’m kind torn I love this guy just a baller. but at the same time no doubt cheating occurred I think a lot of fishing was going on, one why would you give people and opportunity to come forward when you say you know who they are and they will find you? Two why would you tell them that the other professors know let them continue to cheat these are the kids that won’t learn at all… I think the school didn’t want it to get out a lot of pissed off parents as well as have to investigate and find out more kids cheated in the past and got a degree and have jobs… and three why the hell would you brag they are the kids who are getting to plow the hot teacher in high school and instead of keeping quite we got to brag and ruin it…

If you're class is so hard that you have 1/3rd of your students cheating just to get a decent grade, he may need to go back to the drawing board with his students. I think he could've empathized better with the people who were clearly struggling in his class.

I wonder how the student that dropped the test bank to the professor is doing 11 years later.

The professor is a joke.. test banks have been ruled legal by the courts. If they are compromised it doesn’t matter if the professor chooses to use them, it’s on them. Funny how an instructor brings ethics into the conversation when he did what he should have done to begin with and create his own tests instead of being lazy and using someone else’s questions… a little hypocritical on my opinion.

The problem is with the school or the professor. Not the students. Maybe the test was too easy?
